Activities Coordinator

Closing date: Saturday, 28 March
Salary: £29,000 (FTE)
Weekly hours: 15
Contract type: Fixed term
Location: Stockland/Steart

Help a local heritage project achieve their next project's goals.

Having secured grants from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, HPC-Community Fund and others, the Stockland & Steart PCC is seeking to repair an historic church as a place for people to meet, socialise and reduce isolation.

The group also seeks to engage with Somerset’s diaspora communities in reflection of Stockland’s connections to the slavery economy.

In order to fulfil these aspirations and deliver the agreed activity plan, the group is looking for an Activities Coordinator with a keen understanding of addressing issues around isolation and vulnerability in small and rural communities, particularly for people from global majorities.

The successful candidate will have a proven ability to work flexibly and largely alone, but with regular expert supervision and with pre-ordained objectives and targets. They will be able to work with individuals and agencies covering a wide range of ages, interests and needs, have experience in evaluation, data collection, reporting, low-key marketing and encouraging participation, and be self-supporting in terms of IT literacy and transport.
