Supported Internships for young people in Somerset

Young Somerset are offering a fantastic opportunity for young people in the county to take part in Supported Internships.

In partnership with Somerset Skills & Learning, the charity will be providing work-based educational courses for those aged between 16 and 25 with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to help them gain the necessary skills to progress onto sustained, paid employment.

Starting in September 2024, interns will spend 4 days a week at Young Somerset’s Bold & Brave workplace in Taunton. With support from a job coach, they will gain experience in Hospitality, Business and Digital, and Retail.

They will also spend one day a week with Somerset Skills & Learning, working on their employability skills and gaining a qualification in a related area.

For more information about the scheme, please visit the Young Somerset website by clicking the link below.
