Every Life Matters – Suicide Alertness

Date: Tuesday, 29 October

Public Health Somerset is providing a free, 4-hour training session for anyone who wants to understand more about suicide.

1 in 5 of us will have thoughts of suicide in our lifetime – it is a common response to stressful and overwhelming life events.

As such, suicide prevention should be everyone’s business. Anyone in our communities can be alert to when someone is at risk of suicide, and support that person to take the first steps towards getting help.

Join Public Health Somerset and Every Life Matters for this free, online training course, led by dedicated suicide prevention trainers.

During this session, you will learn common myths and key facts about suicide, understand how stigma and our own attitudes can have an impact, appreciate the importance of compassionate listening, and more.

This session is only available to those living or working in Somerset.
