A course for existing and emerging leaders in the Somerset VCFSE sector.
We all know how vital it is to collaborate with others. With rising demand in our communities and increasing complexity, no one organisation or sector has all the answers.
But how can you make sure your voice is heard so that you can lead in complex systems? You may feel you don’t have any power, or you’re not always confident about knowing what to say? Or, it could be that there are complex issues that have been around a long time and you’d like support to see another perspective?
Join us for an in-person training course designed for existing and emerging/future leaders from the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) sector.
Delivered by the nationally recognised Leadership Centre, the training will support you to develop your capacity and your confidence to lead not just directly within your organisations, but across different groups, organisations and sectors. It is designed to be relevant whether you’re in a large or small organisation, and whatever your experience so far.
VCFSE colleagues in other parts of the country have already taken part in this course and are really positive about the benefits of attending:
“Great to have the opportunity to have ‘system thinking’ conversations with other leaders. Understanding and accepting complexity whilst recognising we have power to make a difference. If you want to see change – start with yourself!”
“I feel like this is really important training. People like myself don’t always have an opportunity to step in and think ‘actually, I am part of the bigger picture’. I feel like there is something really powerful in being part of the movement and the training is helping me to navigate these difficult spaces. The training has been empowering and exciting and will help us to better collaborate within the VCSE. On the whole it’s been incredibly enlightening and I know I will now be able to do good things because of it!”
The course will take place across six, half-day sessions in the following locations:
- Tuesday 11 November – Yeovil
- Thursday 4 December – Ilminster
- Wednesday 28 January 2026 – Bridgwater
- Thursday 19 February 2026 – Glastonbury
- Tuesday 24 March 2026 – Taunton
- Wednesday 22 April 2026 – Bridgwater
