SkillShare

Share skills, support communities, build connections.

A community-powered initiative connecting skilled professionals and VCFSE groups.

SkillShare brings together people from both the VCFSE and business sectors who are willing to share their time, skills, space, or resources with groups that need a helping hand.

The project is off to a fantastic start with a partnership with the Somerset Chamber of Commerce, connecting us with their members who share our passion for supporting local groups and charities. Now, we’d like to extend the invitation more widely and work with others across the business community.

SkillShare is about more than one-off exchanges. By connecting grassroots organisations with corporate partners, it builds long term relationships that create lasting value. Acting as a broker, we match those seeking support with those ready to offer it.

Support can take many forms, whether it’s professional expertise in areas like social media, marketing, HR, IT, finance, web development, mentoring, volunteering or by providing access to things like meeting or event spaces, furniture donations, IT equipment and more.

These opportunities can be flexible and shaped around the interests and availability of those involved, making it easy for anyone to contribute.

For VCFSE groups looking for support, SkillShare provides free access to a pool of skilled people and valuable resources, helping to strengthen key areas and enabling organisations to grow and thrive.

Participating in SkillShare by giving support or resources can help you fulfil your organisation’s corporate social responsibility or employer supported volunteering goals by making a difference in your local community.

If you would like to receive or offer support, please express your interest by completing our online form.

As a small organisation, having access to the expertise and knowledge of professionals in such a supportive, non-judgemental environment has been invaluable.
