HDRC Community Grants now open for applications

Somerset Community Grants Fund – phase 1 now open!

Somerset Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) has launched Phase 1 of the Community Grants Fund, offering grants of up to £2,500 for projects that strengthen the building blocks of health.

Call 1: Community-led Projects

Applications of up to £2,500 are available for community-led projects linked to the building blocks of health. Groups are encouraged to think about:

  • What they want to understand better in their community
  • How a small research-led project could help explore an issue, review an existing service, or test a new idea

While current HDRC priorities include education, economic inactivity, best start in life and housing, applications are welcome from across the building-block framework.

Call 2: Employment and Financial Stability

Applications of up to £2,500 are invited for projects addressing one or more of the following themes:

  • Reaching people who aren’t working and aren’t accessing support
  • CV writing and support with job applications
  • Training for employers on supporting staff with long-term conditions or disabilities
  • Tailored employment support for carers
  • Transport solutions for people with long-term conditions or disabilities
