Are you thinking about changing your structure from a CIC to a charity?
Join us for this free, online session where we will lead you through the process, providing practical advice and things to consider.
We will cover:
- Options for transfer (convert to CIO, become a charitable company, or create a new charity) and their pros and cons
- How to convert – thinking through charitable objects, preparing for and making an application
- Things to consider once you have converted.
The session will include an opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
About the trainer
Your trainer for this session is Louise Garner, a consultant with more than 30 years’ experience in the voluntary sector who has provided consultancy support around legal structures for social enterprises and charities for more than 12 years.
Louise has qualifications in company and charity law, and through her work with funders and social enterprise support agencies as a CVS director, has supported many founders – as well as established CICs and charities – to find and register the structure that is right for them.
This training is offered as part of a project that is being funded by the UK Government through the Shared Prosperity Fund. Tickets are solely available to VCFSE staff and volunteers from organisations operating in Somerset.
