How to identify hate crimes and incidents, and the steps to take when reporting them.
A hate crime is any criminal act motivated by hostility or prejudice towards someone because of their race or ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation, disability, or transgender identity.
But how do we identify hate crimes or incidents, and what can we do bring them to the attention of the relevant authorities?
Join us for this interactive Hate Crime Awareness Training session, hosted in partnership with SARI, which aims to equip attendees with:
- A better understanding of how the Equality Act 2010 supports protected characteristics
- Confidence in using appropriate language to lead inclusive conversations
- An understanding of how to identify hate crimes vs hate incidents
- Knowledge of the challenges and barriers victims face in reporting
- Confidence in reporting hate crimes/incidents
