Skills Bootcamp: Leadership & Management

Subsidised training for VCFSE leaders in Somerset.

We’ve partnered with Skills for Life and Yeovil College to bring you another chance to join our popular 10-week Leadership Skills Bootcamp.

Heavily subsidised places are available to employees working in a Somerset voluntary, community, faith or social enterprise (VCFSE) organisation who manage staff or volunteers.

This 10-week bootcamp will take place on Thursdays in Taunton, starting on 15 January. It’s ideal for new or existing managers who would like to develop or refresh their skills without pursuing an accredited qualification.

Course outline:

  • Module 1: Introduction to Emotional Intelligence
  • Module 2: Understanding Self and Others/Personality Profiling
  • Module 3: Effective Communication
  • Module 4: Conflict Management
  • Module 5: Management and Leadership Styles, Traits and Qualities
  • Module 6: Role of Leaders and Managers in the Employee Lifecycle
  • Module 7: Teamwork & Motivation
  • Module 8: Coaching and Mentoring in the Workplace
  • Module 9: Building Authentic, Person-Centered Leadership
  • Module 10: Course Review and Graduation

Costs and subsidies:

For organisations with under 250 employees and a turnover of over £1m, the total value for this course is £3,500 per participant, but is being offered at a subsidised rate of £350 per learner thanks to funding from the Department for Education.

We can offer a subsidised rate of:

  • Annual income of less than £200k – £75 per learner
  • Annual income of £200-500k – £150 per learner
  • Annual income of over £500k – £225 per learner

For organisations with over 250 employees, places will be subsidised to £1,050 per learner.

About the trainer:

The course will be delivered by Kerry Northcott, an experienced trainer and coach from KANkei, who has worked in multiple sectors and with people at all levels within organisations. Kerry uses human behaviour and her understanding of how people ‘work’ as the backdrop to heling others build confidence and competence.
