Volunteering and social action

How we’re empowering people to volunteer and make a difference in their communities.

Anyone can make great things happen for their community.

We believe social action makes a real difference — helping to reduce loneliness, improve wellbeing, build skills for work, and create stronger, more connected communities.

In Somerset, we’re lucky to have an active and varied community of voluntary, faith, and social enterprise groups, all supported by dedicated volunteers. Together with local partners, we help ensure there are volunteering opportunities for everyone.

Volunteering benefits both individuals and the community, and we run a range of projects and services to encourage more people from all backgrounds to get involved across Somerset.

Vision for Volunteering

We’re working towards a future where volunteering is easy to access, inclusive for everyone, and recognised as a vital part of community life across Somerset.
