Learn how to create more inclusive environments for people experiencing mental health challenges.
The Somerset Mental Health Network is a network of VCFSE organisations working together to support mental health and wellbeing across Somerset.
The Network supports and strengthens the mental health community by providing:
- A space for organisations to discuss their needs and share peer support
- A hub for commissioners of provision and services
- A leading voice for VCFSE mental health service providers in Somerset
- In person opportunities to network and engage with the wider sector
- Training events and professional development opportunities
Join us for this special meeting, which includes a practical session exploring how to create more inclusive environments for people experiencing mental health challenges within frontline and community settings.
Together, we will consider how mental health can impact the way people access services, engage with support and participate in community activities. The session will explore common barriers people may experience, challenge common assumptions, and share practical approaches for creating psychologically safer, more inclusive interactions that recognise individual needs while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
About the trainer
Training for this session forms part of our Disability & Reasonable Adjustments programme, facilitated by Evenbreak.
Evenbreak are a specialist inclusive recruitment and training organisation, led by people with lived experience of disability. This high-quality training – designed and delivered by the organisation’s Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent colleagues – will bring clarity and warmth to the subject, and ensure people feel capable of engaging with change rather than anxious about getting it wrong.
Please note: the training section will last for 30 minutes at the start of the session. Those attending for the training are more than welcome to remain for the rest of the meeting.
This session is ideal for Somerset-based frontline staff, community practitioners and volunteers who want to build confidence in supporting people experiencing mental health challenges through inclusive, compassionate and practical approaches.
