The Filo Project is dedicated to creating warm, compassionate and stimulating experiences for older people who may be socially isolated or experiencing memory difficulties.
Most of The Filo Project’s clients are living with the symptoms of early to moderate dementia or other challenges associated with older age.
Hosts provide a welcoming environment which supports meaningful companionship and the opportunities to form friendships and enjoy activities. They also provide a home-cooked hot lunch and transport for their guests.
Hosts work from 9am–5pm on hosting days and need to ensure that their home is accessible, comfortable and safe (including ground floor facilities and minimal steps). All our hosting roles are part-time (1-2 days a week).
The successful candidates will be compassionate, respectful and understanding, able to ‘read’ people well and recognise, value and nurture individuals’ uniqueness. They will also be positive, proactive and creative thinkers who are able to create joy through human connection.
