Learn about current research opportunities and how communities can take part.
You may have heard of Be Part of Research – the national service which helps people find and take part in health and care research opportunities across the UK – but what is it, how does it work, and why does it matter for VCFSE organisations and communities?
This Lunch & Learn session will provide a practical introduction to the platform, including:
- What Be Part of Research is and how it works
- The kinds of studies and opportunities people may come across
- How people and communities can search for, hear about, and take part in research
- How VCFSE organisations might connect with, or support awareness of research opportunities
- Some of the opportunities, questions, and challenges around inclusion, access, and participation
There will also be time for questions, discussion, and shared reflection.
The session will be facilitated by Anna Croucher, Research Engagement and Inclusion Manager at the Regional Development Network. Anna will also be joined by a guest from a Somerset VCFSE organisation who has recently worked alongside the team on a community-focused project exploring experiences of the Be Part of Research platform, including how people hear about, access, and engage with research opportunities.
This session is aimed at anyone who is curious about how research participation works in practice — particularly within community and VCFSE settings. No prior knowledge needed.
