How we can work together to improve the cancer support pathway in Somerset.
We Hear You (WHY) offers compassionate counselling and emotional support to adults, children and families affected by cancer and other life-threatening conditions. With a dedicated team based in Frome, they provide a safe space for patients, families, friends, and carers to share their experiences and feelings.
To strengthen the cancer pathway and improve earlier diagnosis, access, and partnership working across Somerset, WHY are hosting a collaborative workshop to bring together the voluntary, primary care, and secondary care sectors.
The day will focus on practical opportunities to work differently across the system, with a shared emphasis on earlier diagnosis, prevention, and reducing inequalities.
Workshops will include lived experience, system context, interactive breakout discussions, and space to explore funding and transformation opportunities. There will also be opportunities to identify shared priorities, build relationships, and shape next steps for collaborative action.
