ARK at Egwood CIC is a day provision based near Merriott in Somerset that offers daily activities that help people improve their health and wellbeing. They support all ages and needs, and also host an Armed Forces Hub as part of their work to provide effective and responsive support to members of the Armed Forces Community (AFC).
ARK are now seeking a Armed Forces Link Worker for the Somerset East area who will provide personalised support to the AFC and help them live independently and improve their health and social outcomes.
Military service experience is essential for the role, alongside a strong understanding of the challenges faced by veterans and their families. Successful applicants must also have proven experience supporting individuals with mental health needs and working with vulnerable people in a care, community, or support setting.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are a must-have, including active listening and the ability to build trust quickly. The post-holder must also have effective relationship-building and networking skills to work across health, social care, and community sectors.
