Friends of the Quantocks (FOTQ) is a charity run by a team of voluntary Trustees. They own 400 acres of common land on the Quantocks and also carry out a number of other Quantock-wide, conservation-led projects in close association with the Quantocks Hills National Landscape team.
The charity are looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer to help promote the charity’s work and objectives to members and the public, and raise their profile in the area.
The post-holder will manage and create communications and content on the FOTQ website and social media channels, and direct people to become members via emails, newsletters and other printed materials.
They will be responsible for the organising, marketing and management of events and volunteers. They will also maintain and develop good working relationships with local bodies with shared interests in the National Landscape, and work with the trustees as they seek to have a greater positive impact on the conservation of the Quantocks and the wildlife.
The successful candidate will be pro-active, flexible, versatile and organised with a can-do attitude. They will have good IT, social media management, design and copywriting skills, as well as general knowledge of the Quantock Hills area and an interest in nature and conservation.
