Thrive is dedicated to supporting refugees and asylum seekers as they rebuild their lives in the UK.
As an Engagement Worker at Thrive’s Welcome Hubs, you will play a vital role in helping refugees and asylum seekers navigate their new environment. You will provide practical assistance, emotional support, and guidance to ensure every person feels welcomed, respected, and empowered.
You will work within Thrive’s Welcome Hubs, currently in Bridgwater, North Petherton and Watchet, with locations subject to change to meet the needs of those they support.
You’ll be helping clients to develop the skills and confidence to take control of managing their own health and wellbeing. You will build connections, providing one-to-one support that is trauma-informed and culturally sensitive, and help enable change.
The successful applicant will have prior experience working with clients to find person-centred solutions. They will also be able to maintain a compassionate, empathetic and non-judgemental approach with people who may be confused, distressed or angry. Previous experience supporting refugees, asylum seekers or migrants is desirable but not essential.
